Website of the Week

Each week staff members from the Division for Libraries, Technology, and Community Learning (DLTCL) provide readers with at least one featured website. Sites selected are of interest to the PK-12 or library communities.

CESA 7 Special Education

CESA 7 operates a continuum of special education programs for the Calumet County Children with Disabilities Education Board. CESA 7 also assists local school districts with their special education programs and staff needs.

The special education website includes the following elements:

Six new articles on "Autism: Interventions and Strategies for Success."
A section on "Special Education in Plain Language" which details various IDEA (federal law) topics in "Plain English."
Practical strategies in writing appropriate IEP goals, Objectives and Present Level of Performance in the IEP process.
The Wisconsin Special Education Mediation System, including various articles and answers to FAQ by Professor Eva Soeka, a nationally known Mediation expert.
An intriguing "Contact our Staff" page on which all teachers' e-mail addresses are posted by school district and by the teachers' specialty area. This is to encourage, and ease parents' efforts in contacting teachers.
A variety of topics including Independent Evaluation, Discipline, Private Schools, Extended School Year Services, and others.
